Our Story
Lancaster Greenhouse has been a part of the Lancaster, Ohio community for over a century.
What began in 1920 with Pearl Jenkins has been passed from one steward to the next—each adding their own care, craftsmanship, and vision along the way. From Reggie Pryor in the 1970s, to George and Patty Johnson, to Rob and Jill Allen… and now to Brian and Kindra Neeley, who proudly carry the greenhouse forward today.
But Lancaster Greenhouse isn’t just a place to buy plants.
It’s a place built on legacy, hard work, family, and a deep love for growing things, both in the soil and in the community.
A Century of Care
For over 100 years, Lancaster Greenhouse has been shaped by people who care deeply about what they grow and who they grow it for.

Carrying On a Legacy
For years, Brian farmed alongside his dad—splitting his time between the fields in the warmer months and the woodshop in the winter.
In 2014, everything changed when his dad passed away.
But what remained was something even stronger: a deep belief that while people may leave us, love does not.
Today, that love lives on in everything Brian does.
It’s in the way he grows plants.
The way he builds spaces.
The way he treats customers like neighbors.
And in 2018, when Brian became co-owner of Lancaster Greenhouse, he found a new place to share that love—with everyone who walks through the doors.
Expanding with Purpose
Since stepping into ownership, Brian and Kindra have continued to expand what Lancaster Greenhouse can be. To meet growing demand, Brian built The Growing Nursery… adding new greenhouse space and increasing production year after year:
Two new greenhouses built at The Growing Nursery
2020
Three new houses added at Lancaster Greenhouse + two more at the nursery
2021
Evergreen trees introduced in containers
2022
Expanded into deciduous trees and Proven Winners® shrubs
2024
Today, that growth continues with a focus on quality, care, and doing things the right way.
Brian still farms. He still grows. And alongside two dedicated teams, he continues to build something that will last for generations.
A Place to Come Back To
For over 100 years, Lancaster Greenhouse has been a place people return to … season after season, generation after generation.
And today, that mission remains the same:
To grow beautiful things.
To share what we’ve learned.
And to create a place where people feel at home.
