The greatest part of our business is YOU! You clearly have great taste and we thank you for allowing us the opportunity to do what we love each and every day…grow beautiful plants.

We are always here to help! If you ever have any questions or problems with an order, send us an email message that includes a brief description, your order number and a couple pictures to help us understand first-hand what you are experiencing. Many times, we can offer some growing tips that will allow your plants to quickly become healthy and happy again!


Order Processing and Cancelations

Because you love great plants and are super excited to receive them, we typically begin preparing your items almost immediately. You will receive an email letting you know when we begin to process and prepare your order. Once processing is underway, it cannot be changed or canceled. Any order cancellations made after packaging (but prior to shipping) will be subject to a 25% re-stocking fee. All sales are considered final and no returns or cancellations are allowed once orders/items have shipped.


Shipping

Our top priority is doing everything we can to ensure your plants arrive quickly and in excellent condition. Most orders will be processed and prepared for shipment within hours of when they are submitted. We typically ship out all orders containing plants Monday-Wednesday to ensure your items arrive prior to the weekend. Because shipping live plants can be tricky, we occasionally alter or delay the timing of your shipment due to weather or holiday seasons. As soon as orders leave our greenhouses, you will receive an email letting you know your order has shipped!

*If you ever receive a package that appears to have been significantly damaged from shipping, please take some photos of the packaging prior to opening. This will allow us to notify the carrier so we can sort things out with them and make sure your plants always arrive looking great! We always take a great deal of time packaging and protecting your plants and it is not uncommon for some of the potting soil to come out of the pot or even a few leaves/small branches to be broken during shipping. All of this is normal and plants will recover quickly and look amazing! For best success, carefully unpack your order when it arrives, plant all living items as soon as possible and begin proper watering and care immediately upon receipt.

Important Winter Shipping Notes: Sometimes great plants just can’t wait, so we ship all year long! It may be sunny and warm where you live but our greenhouses are located in Central Ohio and winters can be quite cold here. Every order that ships during the winter season will automatically have an additional shipping charge that covers the added expense of plant-protecting heat packs.


Restricted Shipping

There are some states we cannot ship too for a number of reasons, including but not limited to USDA plant restrictions.

We cannot ship to:

Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, or Idaho


Happy Plant Guarantee

We want to make sure that you love each and every plant! We guarantee that all of our plants arrive in good condition and are healthy and vigorous. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your plants when they arrive, please email us within 5 days of receiving your order so we can make it right.

We will review any concerns and if necessary, provide you with either a store credit or one-time replacement that is equal to the plant’s original purchase price paid. Plants purchased that are not in your growing zone are not covered with this guarantee and will not be valid for credit or replacement.

*If your order contains a dormant deciduous plant (shipments made winter-early spring), and it fails to emerge from dormancy by May 31st of the same ship season, we will be happy to guarantee it outside of the required 5-day notification period. In this situation, please contact us by email prior to June 1st of same ship season.


Optional 1-Year Extended Warranty (Purchased)

For many of our hardy trees, shrubs and perennials, we offer the option to purchase an extended one-year, one-time replacement warranty. For all Extended Warranty claims, please email us your order number, the plant name and provide photos of any covered plant item that appears to have died. If an item covered by this Extended Warranty happens to perish within 1-year of your original order ship date, we will issue either a store credit or one-time replacement that is equal to the plant’s original purchase price paid. Shipping cost for such replacement items will be at the customer’s expense.

Notes: Plants purchased that are not in your growing zone are not covered with this guarantee and will not be valid for credit or replacement. This guarantee also does not cover damages or problems caused by natural events such as animal damage, lightning, hail, wind damage, insects or damages caused from unseasonal freezing or frost conditions. In addition, the guarantee also does not cover damages or plant death caused from mechanical damages such as injuries from lawn mowers or string trimmers or negligent plant care such as over or under watering.

Please note that all young plants do require periodic care and it is the homeowner’s responsibility to ensure that these new plantings receive sure care and are watered at the appropriate times during this 1 year period. Watering too often or not watering enough is the cause of 90% of all plant problems! Nearly all new plantings will need to be watered heavily (by Mother Nature or by hand watering) 1 time every 4-6 days during the growing season. Soil types and weather conditions vary significantly from state to state so please adjust your specific plant care to your local conditions.

Sales, Discounts & Coupons

Only one coupon or discount code can be used per order. You cannot combine coupons or discount codes to receive multiple discounts. There will be no credit given to the unused portion of your coupon. All coupons must be applied at the time of purchase.


Plant Sizes, Growth Rates, Containers and Condition

No two plants are alike but we will do our best to accurately list the current plant or container size. All of our plant containers are listed as industry-standard trade container sizes and these sizes are sometimes different than conventional measurements. We also periodically trim, prune and care for all of our plant material to ensure its long-term health. Because of this, plant size/height may vary slightly from the sizes listed.

 


Limitations and Governing Laws

You agree that any matters relating to your access to or use of our website/online store, including disputes, will be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio without regard to its conflicts of law’s provisions. You also agree to the personal jurisdiction by and venue in the state and federal courts in Fairfield County, Ohio, and waive any objection to such jurisdiction or venue. Lancaster Greenhouse & Nursery Inc. (and its affiliates, officers, directors, agents and employees) shall not, in any event, be liable for damages in an amount greater than the original purchase price of the product(s). Should Lancaster Greenhouse & Nursery Inc. prevail, it will be entitled to recoup all costs and attorney fees associated with any disputes

* eCommerce/Shipped Orders refer to any order that is shipped using third-party carriers such as but not limited to UPS, FedEx, USPS or any other similar third-party carrier that is not owned or operated by Lancaster Greenhouse & Nursery Inc. These Terms of Service do not apply to any orders or purchases made in-person at any of our physical store locations or to orders where the order/items are delivered by any method that is owned or operated by Lancaster Greenhouse & Nursery Inc. or by any of its employees or agents.
